Cheney Says Obama Understands Bush Better Now

Former Vice President Dick Cheney gave his first interview since his major heart surgery last July and commented that President Obama “has learned from experience”  that much of what President Bush’s administration undertook to fight terrorism was absolutely necessary for national security. Cheney said that he believes that since taking office as President Obama has been forced to rethink some of his positions on national security.”I think he’s learned that what we did was far more appropriate than he ever gave us credit for while he was a candidate. So I think he’s learned from experience. And part of that experience was the Democrats having a terrible showing last election.”The interview will be broadcast on Tuesday’s edition of the NBC news program “Today.”
