There is a move in the House of Representatives to repeal the Obama healthcare legislation, considered Obama ‘signature legislation.’ As the Republicans take over the majority in the House, they plan on keeping their campaign promise to try and thwart Obama’s healthcare reform package. The new House Republican leader Eric Cantor’s spokesman, Brad Dayspring said that the House is planning to have a vote on a bill which will repeal the healthcare reform on January 12th. According to Dayspring, “It will pass the House.”However this bit of legislation is not expected to pass through the Senate, which maintained its Democratic majority after the midterm elections which gave Republicans the majority of the House. Most analysts believe the repeal of Obama’s healthcare reform will be blocked at the Senate level.”Obamacare is a job killer for businesses small and large, and the top priority for House Republicans is going to be to cut spending and grow the economy and jobs,” Dayspring said, explaining the Republican desire to kill the law.
