Obama is at it again, heading to the golf course for the 60th time during his presidency. Those with too much time on their hands have actually calculated that Obama’s golf interest has, so far, totaled two months of his presidency. With rounds that generally take five hours to complete, including a motorcade and more, Obama is certainly spending a great deal of time on the course.CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller, who is clearly following Obama to a tee, has reported that Obama played 30 rounds in 2010, 28 rounds in 2009, and has, so far this year, enjoyed two rounds. It’s interesting to note that President George W. Bush actually gave up his golfing routine in 2003, explaining that he did so because “playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signals.” During an interview in 2008 with POLITICO, President Bush explained that he didn’t want mothers who had recently experienced loss to see the commander in chief having fun on the golf course.Perhaps Obama could learn a few things from his predecessor…although he undoubtedly feels that his golf time allows him to get his mind off of his stressful job and his Washington woes.
