Julianne Moore Has Eyes on the White House

When the HBO film Game Change set out to chronicle the attempt by US senator John McCain to win the 2008 presidency against Barack Obama, they had to consider who should play Sarah Palin. Since Tina Fey was otherwise occupied – they chose Julianne Moore. While certainly not quite as good a match as Tina Fey, Moore should be able to capture the feisty, contentious, fashionable face of Sarah Palin quite well.

Film Focus

The film will focus on McCain’s choice of Palin as his running mate and on the combative campaign that they waged against Obama for the White House. Palin first became a well known American politician during the campaign, when she was selected as McCain’s running mate.

Film Details

Game Change will be directed by Jay Roach and written by Danny Strong. Both were behind HBO’s successful 2008 true-life political drama called Recount. For Game Change, they will be using source materials from the book about the McCain run penned by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann.

Election Inspiration

For those inspired by or intrigued by the last election, this should be a great glimpse into the inside story. Or perhaps just another chance to laugh at the colorful Sarah Palin.
