Governor of Hawaii Neil Abercrombie has decided he wants to settle once and for all the controversial issue of whether President Obama is truly entitled to be the nation’s president due to confusion about exactly what country Obama was really born in.Back in 2008 during the presidential campaign questions about where Obama was born arose because his mother was born in Kansas and his father was from Kenya. Those in doubt began to wonder if Obama wasn’t really born in either Kenya or Indonesia, places where Obama lived as a child.”This has to do with the people in Hawaii who love him, people who loved his mom and dad. This has to do with the respect of the office that the president is entitled to,” Abercrombie said after attending the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl at Aloha Stadium. The Obama campaign responded by supplying the press with copies of a certification of live birth and posting it online. Critics were nevertheless not satisfied and persisted saying that they wanted to see the actual original birth certificate. That document however is by law not public record.Chiyome Fukino, who was Director of the Hawaii state Department of Health during the campaign issued a statement saying she had “… personally seen and verified that the Hawaii state Department of Health has Senator Obama’s original birth certificate on record…”For some serious ‘birthers’ this is still not enough evidence. What more the Governor can do is not clear, but he is nevertheless determined.”We have to take a look at what we can do with that. But I can’t imagine that we can’t find some way to see to it that those who are honest about it, who don’t have a personal agenda, could have no further argument about it,” the Governor said.Abercrombie did admit that probably little can be done to sway those who have a political agenda against Obama.
