Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, recently addressed a group of U.S. businessmen in Shanghai, telling them that California is about to embark on a project to build a high speed rail system spanning the almost 400 mile distance from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and that he will seek financial backing for this project from China.”We look to China to build our high speed rail, to be part of the bidding process that we are going to go through,” Schwarzenegger told the gathering. “Many countries will be bidding to build our high-speed rail, (and we plan) also to look for financing from China.”
