This Wednesday, COVID-19 restrictions are scheduled to end in Seattle. In celebration, Governor Jay Inslee plans to raise a flag above the Space Needle after a small tour. He will begin in Tacoma, meeting Mayor Victoria Woodards at Wright Park for a community celebration.
Woodards said it is “important to recognize all we have endured over the course of this pandemic, how we have supported our neighbors and local businesses, and the many contributions of our essential workers,” Seattle Times reports.
Inslee will then travel to River Square Park in Spokane for an evening event with Mayor Nadine Woodward, and raise a Washington ready flag on Thursday morning. His last stop will be at Pike Place Market.
According to state data, 68.2% of adults in Washington have received the first vaccine.
