How did President Barack Obama react to the Republican National Convention? Not surprisingly, he had a few words to convey to the 10,000 people at the rally that he held in Urbandale, Iowa on Saturday. He commented there that the GOP Convention was “better suited for the last century.”
As he said,
“It was a rerun. We’d seen it before. You might as well have watched it on a black-and-white TV. If you didn’t DVR it, let me recap it for you. Everything is bad, it’s Obama’s fault, and Gov. Romney is the only one who knows the secret to creating jobs and growing the economy.”
He continued, clearly enjoying poking fun at his rival, saying that Romney “did not offer a single new idea, just retreads of the same old policies that have been sticking it to the middle class for years.”
In one powerful moment during the rally, the crowd booed when Obama started his speech by referring to the GOP convention. Quick on his feet, Obama replied to their reaction by saying, “Don’t boo.”
“Vote.”
Having made his opinion of the convention quite clear, Obama must now show how his side is bringing people into the future – rather than being just another “rerun.”
