Allan West, who served for two years as a Florida congressman, will be joining the lineup at Fox News as a network contributor, according to a report in The Washington Post.
West became a congressman after a career in the military, but only lasted for two years as a congressman when Florida’s 22nd District was redistricted into the 18th District, causing him to lose his seat. Since losing his seat West has been the host of “Next Generation TV,” a show owned by the conservative website known as PJ Media.
“Representative West’s congressional and military experience along with his fearless approach to voicing key issues will provide a valuable point of view to the Fox News lineup,” said Bill Shine, Fox News Vice President.
Fox News has spent the year acquiring high-profile political contributors to their lineup; West being the third after former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown and former Democratic Representative Dennis Kucinich joined the conservative news outlet.
